The IB Primary Years Programme prepares students to be lifelong learners

PYP是国际文凭组织(IBO)为312岁学生设计的课程项目,为学生未来的学习打下坚实的基础。

      The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is one of the four programmes offered by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and is offered to children aged 3 – 12. It nurtures and develops young students to be active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.

 

1.     六大学科领域帮助学生全人发展

Six subject groups focus on the development of the whole child

PYP六组学科是指语言、数学、科学、社会学、艺术、个人教育、社交教育与体育。

      The Six subject groups are Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social studies, Arts and Personal, social and physical education.

                        教育学生在学术、社交和情感等方面健康成长;

                        鼓励学生养成独立自主性,并对自己的学习负起责任;

                        支持学生努力了解世界,并能够健康快乐地生活其中;

                        帮助学生建立起个人价值观,并以此为基础发展和发扬国际情怀。

                      Addresses students’ academic needs and their social and emotional well-being;

                      Encourages students to develop independence and to take responsibility for their own learning;

                      Supports students’ efforts to gain an understanding of the world and to function effectively within it;

                      Help students to establish personal values as a foundation in which international-mindedness will flourish.

 

 

2.     六大超学科主题引领学生探究世界

Six transdisciplinary themes involve students in inquiry into the real world

PYP六大超学科主题是:我们是谁、我们身处什么时空、我们如何表达自己、世界如何运作、我们如何组织自己、共享地球。学生的主题探究活动以世界为教材,以问题为导入,以概念为驱动,以探究为主要学习方式,探究活动超越学科领域界限,引领学生探究世界。

The six transdisciplinary themes are: who we are, where we are in place and time, how we express ourselves, how the world works, how we organize ourselves and sharing the planet.  These themes help us to incorporate local and global issues into the curriculum, encouraging students to consider links between the themes and to explore the concepts through a structured inquiry based manner across all subject areas.

 

 

3.探究单元与学科知识融为一体

Unit of Inquiry (UOI) encourages students to make connections across subjects

小学项目主要以UOI(Unit of Inquiry)即“探究单元”为载体开展,围绕每个单元的中心思想,打破传统学科界限,将语文、数学、科学、社会学的核心知识融为一体,开展超学科探究学习。

  UOI provides students with the opportunity to combine the core knowledge of Chinese, Maths , Science and Social Studies through the overarching central idea of each unit.

 

4.学生在真实的环境中探究学习

Inquiry-based teaching helps develop a deeper understanding of the real world.

探究是小学项目的主要教学方法。小学部强调学生在真实场景中自主探究和构建理解,教师是学生学习的推动者,而不是单纯的知识传授者。

  Inquiry is the leading pedagogical approach of the PYP. LZCGS Primary Section emphasizes that the students should inquire and construct understanding through realistic contexts. Teachers are facilitators rather than instructors or explainers of knowledge.

 

 

   5.多元评估助力学生向既定目标迈进

Diversified criterion-related assessment encourages students to work towards certain targets.

小学部采用多元化的评估方式,鼓励学生朝着既定的评估标准迈进。教师根据学生的作业、作品、调查报告、测验、表演、访谈等学习任务的完成情况,参照具体评估标准进行过程性和总结性评估。

  Teachers evaluate students through formative and summative assessment. These assessments are based on specific criterias that apply to the students’ coursework, products, tests, presentations, surveys, reports and many other learning tasks.

 

   6. 小班化实现量身定制的个性化教育

Small-sized class helps realize the tailor-made education.

小学实行小班化教学,每班学生不超过28人,课堂上以分组合作学习为主。教师全天在教室内办公,教学上相互协作,更好地关注到每一个学生,真正实现量身定制的个性化教育。

   LZCGS Primary Section offers small-sized classes with a maximum of 28 students. Students are grouped according to their pace of learning. Teachers remain in the classroom with students throughout the day and work collaboratively, providing individual attention to every child. Thus, tailor-made education can be witnessed.
